Subconscious

Before I do my last product review, I want to diverge a little bit and talk about the subconscious. The subconscious is very powerful and has some interesting characteristics I want to describe. First of all, it is responsible for directing your body processes like your heart rate, breathing, even things like where your blood flows (it can constrict or dilate blood vessels, thereby directing blood flow), not to mention all the complicated processes involved with digestion and thousands of other things. So the subconscious is the ultimate multitasker. And like I said in previous posts, it loves to automate things. It is unable to tell the difference between something you imagine and something that you are really seeing. This is a powerful property of the subconscious. There was a study performed with basketball players. They divided the team into three groups. One group practiced free-throws. The next group did nothing at all. The last group practiced free-throws only in their imagination. At the end of the week they determined how much the groups improved. Obviously the group that didn't practice, didn't improve. The other two groups improved about the same amount, which is really amazing because all that one of them did was to sit for an hour each day and imagine performing free-throws. So this serves to show the power of visualization, and it is one thing that all of the top athletes share in common. Almost all professional athletes are aware of and use visualization in their practice. Golf legends Jack Nicholas and Arnold Palmer are both famous for using visualization and mental rehearsal. Before they took a shot they would see the whole process unfold in their minds exactly the way they wanted it to happen. They were directing their subconscious on how they wanted to execute the shot. I think their performance speaks for itself. So tomorrow I will be reviewing a product that can help you with visualization and programming your subconscious for success.
