These are interference patterns on a pondOne interesting property of holograms is that all of the information for the entire picture is contained in every part of it. So if you tore up a true hologram you would see the entire image represented in the two pieces. Physicists David Bohm and Karl Pribram who have postulated the theory of the universe as a hologram, suspect that the same property is true of the universe as well, so your thumbnail may include all of the information contained in the entire universe. You can read more about this theory in the book by Michael Talbot called "The Holographic Universe".
So Eastern philosophies have incorporated energy into their cultures for thousands of years. There are many practices incorporating it, such as Tai Chi Chuan, Qi Gong, Reiki, and Feng Shui. It seems western science and culture is slow to adapt. Most people in western society have adopted a viewpoint created in the seventeenth century by Isaac Newton, which is essentially the universe operates like a clock. All you have to understand are the individual components of the clock and how they interact to understand how the entire clock works. It was a very efficient way of predicting the behavior of things we experience like billiard balls. But now we know that that is only half of the story. We have discovered an entirely new dimension of the universe that behaves according to a different set of laws than what we experience in our dimension, and that is in the dimension of the quantum realm. Each dimension is connected to one another and they both influence each other. You cannot separate the two.
The cool thing about this is that your brain is composed of quantum elements. Many people believe that there are quantum computations occurring in the brain. So that connects your mind with the quantum realm, which is why the results of quantum experiments are influenced with conscious observation. We are intimately connected with the quantum dimension and that understanding opens the door to many possibilities.
